The last word of reads #9 is dust. I had a think of friends beginning with the letter T but hit a blank so I moved to the next letter S. It seemed only fitting that I asked Stuart Tyler as one of the co-inventors of my reads selection process (during a drunken Christmas get together).
The Third Policeman – Flann O’brien
Harper Collins, 240 pages.
“The Third Policeman” is a novel by Irish author Brian O’Nolan, writing under the pseudonym Flann O’Brien. It was written between 1939 and 1940, but after it initially failed to find a publisher, the author withdrew the manuscript from circulation and claimed he had lost it. The book remained unpublished until his death in 1966. [wikipedia]
I have absolutely no expectations with this book (having never heard of it before) and look forward to reading something completely new!
