Reads #7: A Spot of Bother

A Spot of Bother – Mark Haddon

Jonathan Cape, 390 pages.

“A Spot of Bother” is the second adult novel by Mark Haddon, who is best known for his prize-winning first novel “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”. Like Curious Incident, A Spot of Bother examines mental health issues from the perspective of the patient. The book has received mixed reviews and has been adapted for French cinema entitled “Une petite zone de turbulences”.

Although I’ve heard of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” I’ve never heard of “A Spot of Bother” or Mark Haddon. I’m going into this book with no pre-established ideas of what to expect so I’m really excited about the challenge and look forward to reading the book during my holiday.

I’ll let you know what I think in a month!
